Our metal bellows and expansion joint services are listed below. Most are in house services and some are contracted to outside vendors. Each outside vendor is carefully evaluated to insure that quality standards run parallel to the high standards set at Triad Bellows Design and Manufacturing.

Hydro Testing
A hydrostatic test is a way in which leaks can be found in pressure vessels such as expansion joints. The test involves placing water in the vessel at the required pressure to ensure that it will not leak or be damaged. All hydrostatic tests at Triad Bellows are performed at 1-1/2 times the designed working pressure (psig) of the unit. Each passed unit will receive individual certification from Triad Bellows.
Liquid Penetrant Inspection
Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) is a widely applied inspection method used to locate surface-breaking defects in all non-porous materials
All testing can be performed to available standards:
ASTM E 165, Standard Practice for Liquid Penetrant Examination for General Industry
ASTM E 1417, Standard Practice for Liquid Penetrant Testing
ASME, Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section V, Art. 6, Liquid Penetrant Examination
X-ray Radiographic Inspection
Radio-graphic testing can detect internal defects in ferrous and nonferrous metal. This test is commonly used to certify welds prior to forming.
All testing can be performed to available standards:
ASTM E164, “Recommended practice for ultrasonic contact examination of weldments.”
ASTM E273, “Ultrasonic inspection of longitudinal and spiral welds of welded pipes and tubing.”
ASME SEC III (1) NB 2560,5330, “Examination and repair of tubular products and fittings welded with filler metal with ultrasonic acceptance standards for welds.”
ASME SEC VIII (1) UW 11,53, “Radiographic and Ultrasonic examination of pressure vessels fabricated by welding, techniques of testing.”
Private Labeling
Let us attach your labels and logos to the finished expansion joints. We are just an extension of your manufacturing facility. At Triad you can always count on quality products that you will be proud to put your companies name on.
Export Packaging
ISPM-15 certified crating is always provided for export shipments. Care is taken to insure that your shipment will be protected and arrive safely.
Emergency Shipments
Triad Bellows will accommodate emergency shipments whenever possible. Due to potential time and material constraints expedited delivery requests will be handled on a first come first serve basis. Expedite fees will vary depending on nature of the emergency and the amount of overtime that will be required.
Blind Drop Ship
Customers that purchase private labeled products from Triad Bellows Design and Mfg. utilize our BLIND DROP SHIP program. Only your companies name will appear on all shipping documents.
Reverse Engineering
Need an expansion joint but the drawings can’t be located? Send us your failed joint and we will reverse engineer it. Once all of the details have been verified you will receive a new drawing for your records.
Re-building services
Send us your failed expansion joint and we will remanufacture it like new. This is an economical solution when there is value in the fittings and accessories. The bellows will be replaced and the fittings cleaned and re-machined as necessary. All expansion joints are pressure tested and painted before leaving our facility.
Personalized EJMA Data Sheets
Provide us your LOGO and we will personalize your bellows design data sheet. When you attach the EJMA data sheet with your quotation your customer will see performance data such as pressure, temperature, design movements, number of theoretical cycles, pressure thrust and spring rates.
Personalized Submittal Drawings
The days of having to cut and paste your logo are gone. At Triad bellows we make it easy to sell our expansion joints. Your logo will be inserted into the drawing and sent to you in .PDF format ready to forward to your customer. Our engineers will also include additional information on the drawings on request.

Helium Mass Spectrometer Testing
The leak detection technique relies on the separation of helium from other gases in a vacuum. It is completed by ionizing a gas sample containing helium, pushing the sample through a magnetic field, and collecting the helium ions as they pass through the tested material.
Custom Machining
Triad Bellows Design and Mfg. has a well equipped in-house machine shop. Capabilities include large diameter machining, custom flange manufacturing, O-ring grooves, fine finish machining and weld end fabrication.
Shipment Notification
E-mail notifications are sent out to let you know your order has shipped. Included in the E-mail will be the UPS tracking information and a copy of the bill of lading for all truck shipments. Just let us know if there are additional recipients that you would like to include on the E-mail. Include your billing department and your customers can get invoiced immediately.
